Why won't my new ps3 play GTA san andreas for ps2?Just got a ps3 couple days ago, i'm not sure what GB it's harddrive is all i know is that it was 300 bucks like all of them now a days but on the box it says it has backwards compatibility but when i put in gta san andreas it won't play it? Please help i'd love to play some old school gta.

They stopped making them BC, (able to play PS2 games) some time ago. No new PS3 can play PS2 games.
The old PS3's that could play them all had 4 usb ports and they were:
The 60GB, 20GB, and the older 80GB MGS4/Motorstorm bundle which could play 80% of PS2 games.
After that, they stopped putting BC in them to save money so that they could bring the price of the PS3 down, due to so many people complaining about how expensive it was.
PS3's that cannot play any PS2 games all have 2 usb ports and are these:
Newer 80GB, 160GB, 120GB "Slim", 250GB "Slim"
There is no software or mod to make your PS3 BC:)

when it said backwards compatibility it probably meant for ps1 games. they cany play ps2 game, which sucks, if u own ps3 singstar u can play ps2 singstar games but thats about it. so it only plays ps3 and most ps1 games.
