For PS3, if you already have a wireless connection to computers, is anything else necessary to play online?I'm going to buy a PS3 cause my xbox has a bad laser i think. If I've already got a wireless connection that will connect to a wireless computer, do I need any other hardware or software to play online with a PS3? Or is the "802.11b/g Wi-Fi" that is part of a PS3 already equipped to connect to a wireless connection without any other modifications?

the ps3 has wifi built in, so no need for extra adapters or anything.

The ps3 does not connect to a "computer". It connects to a wifi signal (wireless internet). To do so, you'll need a wireless router.

One controller w/ cord
any necessary wires to hook-up to tv
just configure your network settings on the PS3 when you first turn it on, it automatically takes you there when you first turn it on
