Where Can i download the new PS3 new firmware update 2.40 onto my computer?i want to do this because the update had an error and i want to go online but i cant so if anyone could post a link for the update i would be very thankful

Just keep trying, a lot of people are updating ryt now, thats why u got an error.

Here's the link: http://ie.playstation.com/help-support/ps3/system-software/download/ Just click on agree at the bottom. Put the file on a memory stick and put it in this directory X:\PS3\UPDATE\

Either the "System Update" through the PS3 itself or you can go directly to playstation.com for downloading the update to a flash drive.

I'm personally just going to try and update it later today. Hope it works!
