What do i need to start xbox live for the old black xbox?

What do i need to start xbox live for the old black xbox?I have an old xbox, and have never had live on it. I want to start, and i need to know what i need in order to be able to play with people around the world. I would rather go to stores to buy this stuff, but i can buy online too.

uuuummmm get a card from walmart and then you can play onlnie same as xbox 360

u will need an ethernet cable,a laptop or computer and internet
just connect the ethernet cable to ur xbox and to ur computer.......AND IT LOOKS LIKE UR READY 2 GO!!!!!:)
