PS3 is broken should i buy the slim?My 40gig ps3 is officially broken. Since i do not have a warranty i want to know if the whole yellow light/red light of death has been fixed on the new slim before i go out and drop 300 bucks. please no xbox fanboy comments i have owned 2 xbox 360's and they both red ringed.

There was never ylod on the slims only the 1st generations. Buy it

They seem fine, but all the ones I had ran pretty hot because of the design. The slim still has the YLOD, and the reason for this is from Sony not properly applying thermal paste to the CPU and GPU. I'd go for the big 80GB without BC. They use less power than the 40GB and they have worked out all the major kinks since it's the last version of the fat consoles.
