How can the Playstation 3 recognize themes (extension .p3t) from a jump drive?

How can the Playstation 3 recognize themes (extension .p3t) from a jump drive?I know that in order for the playstation 3 to recognize audio/video/picture they need a separate folder for each one. Example: MUSIC, PICTURE & VIDEO. I thought that the PS3 would recognize a THEME folder but it doesn't. Is their one for themes?
